On October 19 and 20, 2023, the “Metropolis of Culture” Congress was held in Sosnowiec. About 300 people associated with the cultural sector and NGOs took part in debates, workshops, lectures or engaged in project groups.
The event was a platform for the cultural sector to exchange practices, a chance to deepen knowledge and skills, an opportunity to establish contacts and cooperation, and to design a vision of the best possible solutions for cultural policy in the Metropolis.
The organizers of the event were: the City of Sosnowiec, the City of Katowice, the Upper Silesian-Zagłębiowska Metropolis, the ECC Office – KTW GZM 2029 (Katowice City of Gardens), the Jan Kiepura Municipal Club.
Co-organizers: MBP Sosnowiec / Zagłębie Mediateka, Zagłębie Theater, Sosnowiec Music School Complex, Sosnowiec Art Center – Sielecki Castle, Open Culture Stop, Schoen Palace Museum in Sosnowiec.
